Ping is a computer network utility used to test whether a particular host (computer) is reachable across an Internet Protocol (IP) network (e.g., Internet) and to measure the round-trip time for data packets sent from the local host to a destination computer, including the local host's own interfaces. To ping an address, enter an IPv4 address in dotted format (e.g., 8.8.8.8).
